Chris, On a hunch today, I tested to see if the breakage occured with hibernate also. It did not.
Then retested suspend. It suspended and resumed normally. The only difference between yesterday and today, is that yesterday I uninstalled linux-backports-modules-hardy which provided a fix for the missing iwl4965 wifi led. I noticed afterwards that the wifi led worked without the backports module, so the upgrade to .36 must have included something that fixed that. I believe the problem was occuring because of the upgraded kernel image, and the backports modules. I could test this by downgrading to .34, but I do not know how to do that. I've reinstalled backports modules to try and recreate the problem, but cannot now replicate it. I have repeatedly attempted to recreate the problem today but cannot. There were additional updates today, but none that should have affected the issue. Since I cannot replicate the problem today, it is probably safe to close this bug. Thanks for your time!
