Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic

The k8temp kernel module retrieves the cpuid from the cpu in a manner
that could be incorrect for multi-cpu systems.

It retrieves the cpuid of the processor currently running the driver
code, not necessarily the cpu the driver wishes to know about.

Also it doesn't use the extra temperature resolution of the G stepping
k8 cpus.

The following patch corrects the cpuid detection as well as adding code
to read the temperature with the extra resolution for cpus that support
it.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
