There is no output.
It opens the correct page but in the wrong profile (it uses the
currently running firefox instance instead of opening a new one with
the specified profile)

for example

firefox
* runs firefox *
firefox -P profile2 http://www.cnn.com
* opens a new window with http://www.cnn.com in it but using the
default profile *

if I close all the firefox windows (and wait a couple seconds for it
actually to shut down firefox) and then give the command
firefox -P profile2
* opens firefox using profile2 *
firefox -P default
* opens a window using profile2 *

Hope this explains what I'm seeing,
