I've unfortunately reproduced this bug... it is a total pain...

Any ideas on a work around? I'm googling to find some way to be able to
mount this volume or remove the set mount point as we speak, but I'm not
having any luck.

I'm currently unable to access any data on the removable volume because
gnome now refuses to mount it.

I actually don't think I entered the mount point wrong either... I just
pressed ENTER after typing in the mount point and the dialog closed... I
assumed I'd hit ENTER to confirm my options and close the dialog.

I'm running 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 21:01:46 UTC 2008 --
64-bit Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 updated as of 30 minutes ago.
