This bug report is being closed due to your last comment regarding this
being fixed with a change of configuration. To clarify, the error
message you were getting was because gnome-session could not connect to
gnome-power-manager to retrieve the supported power states of the
machine, because gnome-power-manager wasn't running. G-P-M wasn't
running because it had been explicitly disabled in System -> Preferences
-> Session, which is not the default configuration.

For future reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by
clicking on the current status in the yellow line and then choosing a
new status in the revealed drop down box. You can learn more about bug
statuses at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status . You set this bug to
'Fix Released' after you fixed your problem with a configuration change,
but please note that 'Fix Released' is not the appropriate status. Thank
you again for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Feel free to submit any future bugs you may find.
