The smb kernel from http://people.ubuntu.com/~smb/bug251344/ also works for me but my processor is single core AMD Athlon XP. Also in my previous post when I suspected that EnvyNG is the problem I didn't make the system work with generic but with the 386 kernel.
To avoid any confusion please give us information what kernels should we test? Generic, smb, 386? Is only generic affected with this bug, or all of them?
