Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Closing tabs in Firefox 3 using middle click also pauses songs in Rhythmbox,
for which there is no recovery other than closing and reopening Rhythmbox. This
happens especially when closing webpages displaying flash video files, whether
using middle click or clicking the (x) on the tab. After a tab-closing pause,
however, pressing play doesn't help. Rhythmbox remains "Paused." If I close
tabs using the x on pages that do not contain flash, songs in Rhythmbox usually
remain playing.
