Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: asterisk-classic

/etc/init.d/asterisk start fails with:

  /usr/sbin/safe_asterisk: 93: Syntax error: Bad fd number

Line 55 of safe_asterisk seems to be what fails:

                        stty sane < /dev/${TTY}

Changing safe_asterisk to use /bin/bash fixes the problem.

** Affects: asterisk (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
