Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kde-printer-applet
This is possibly related to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/235197 But since that bug has been reassigned to the black hole of the kernel maintainers (i.e. it won't get a response) I am filing a fresh bug. Symptom: HP Laserjet 4L - worked on Gutsy, doesn't work on Hardy. I have two computers, one of which is an upgrade from Gutsy, the other a fresh install of Hardy. On both, when I print, cups starts to process it (that is, I see it in the printer status applet as processing) but the printer never auto-powers on and prints. In dmesg, I get messages like: [92492.390334] audit(1218385980.995:78): type=1502 operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="::rw" denied_mask="::rw" name="/dev/tty" pid=7954 profile="/usr/sbin/cupsd" namespace="default" ** Affects: kdeutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- HP Laserjet 4L unresponsive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
