I also get this when logging out or shutting down; I have an Intel card in a Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop.
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03) Subsystem: Dell Device 01a4 This is a 32bit system, upgraded with "update-manager -d" yesterday from Hardy. When the crash occurs, I get a proper snowcrash rather than a blank screen. If I do a "shutdown -h now" from the terminal, I still get the garbage on the screen, but eventually my screen goes back to displaying the Ubuntu splash screen and then shuts down correctly. I imagine the difference here is because clicking shutdown from Gnome is actually just logging me out. -- Hangs on logout, restart, and shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209324 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
