Unfortunately, power-off still doesn't work; there's nothing new to report from this end. Dell just released BIOS 1.0.12 (marked "urgent"), but it fails the same way. This box is a file server tucked in the basement and, right now, I'm not in a position to blow it away and "test" 8.04(.1) to see if it's a net improvement. But, as I suppose using the LTS version is really the only way to get any traction on this problem, I'll do a dist upgrade in a few months when things slow down. Thanks...
