Hi Brian, You commented you're using Hardy 8.04.1 so I'm guessing you're using kernel 2.6.24-19 ? Can you confirm by posting the output of 'cat /proc/version_signature' . Would you also be able to capture and post your entire dmesg output when you experience this bug?
Also I'm curious if you would be willing to confirm this is still an issue with the latest Alpha for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10. It has a 2.6.26 base kernel - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing.
