If no installed package is selected, the delete key works as expected in the quick search textbox.
I can reproduce this bug following these steps: 1. Start synaptic. 2. Click the quick search textbox and write "synaptic". 3. Click the synaptic package (it should have a green square, meaning it's installed). 4. Click the quick search textbox again, somewhere in the middle of the "synaptic" word. 5.
