I can confirm the same problem, having just upgraded from hardy with static ip in /etc/network/interfaces, eth0 connects via dhcp and ignores the static settings. Changing the setting through the network manager to a manual address appears to work for a short while, but then reverts to dhcp, even before rebooting.
