I upgraded Kubuntu 8.04.1 to KDE 3.5.10 => problem still present. Note that the debian package "showimg_0.9.5-1.1_i386.deb" installed alone with dpkg shows the problem too under Kubuntu Hardy, while it does not under Gutsy. I suspect that the problem is most likely related to the libraries rather than to the application itself.
