I have a similar problem. After boot it works, screen is shut-off after configured time-out. But after a few hours it stops working. Screen is not shut-off after time-out. Manually using "> xset dpms force standby/suspend/off" always works. Currently using Ubuntu 8.04, but I have had this problem on previous versions as well. What should I provide to get someone working on this?
