I got a kernel crash when I installed the nvidia driver.
I tried both the "stable" (version 1.0-8776) and the BETA driver (1.0-9625).
I'm running Kubuntu 6.10/AMD64 (default kernel, which is 2.6.17-10-generic).
The graphics card is:
XFX GeForce 7950GT eXTreme 570MHz GPU 512MB DDR3 HDCP HDTV-out DUAL DVI
SLI-ready RETAIL PCI Express
The monitor is a 30-inch Apple Cinema HD.
