FYI. It would be a nice idea if we had some Ubuntu representatives in the major universities and technical high schools of Switzerland. I know of quite some of our members being at ETHZ and EPFL, I think it could be useful if we had a complete list of people who are available as Ubuntu contacts at these places.
This would also solve the problem with events in these universities/high schools been announced and known about earlier for us to react. See the previous post about the LinuxDays in Zürich during the same day as OpenExpo in Bern... We really should avoid such collisions in the future and if we want to promote Ubuntu actively as a team we should be notified about events much earlier. It's pretty hard to be everywhere at the same time, especially if nobody notifies us about, and it's not like Switzerland being so huge and crowded that we can afford to have multiple LoCo Teams in our country.. So far we, the Swiss Team, have always notified our events to every notable group in Switzerland, it would be great if this could work the other way round too... Regards, Myriam. PS. We really should organize another Switzerland-wide meeting of the relevant groups being active in the country and agree on a far more efficient way to communicate in the future. If only such a meeting could be organized and announced in a reasonable time frame to allow people to be present (like, getting your day off and having enough money to afford travel through half the country on that particular day, not everybody gets reduced fares). Yes, I know, my usual rant... ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Fouad Bajwa <[email protected]> Date: Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 09:36 Subject: Ubuntu's Campus Plans?
