FYI, in some EU countries I believe it is now possible to get reimbursed by Microsoft for the price of the Windows OS "forced" onto the customer when purchasing a PC...You just have to claim that you wanted to purchase only the bare hardware and that the OS contained in the bundle was a "forced sale" because you planned to use another OS and install it by yourself. In the case you file such a claim, Microsoft is required by law to reimburse you the equivalent amount (and they will do it, believe me !). Of course, there is a catch: the general public does not know about this and the computer retail stores absolutely avoid to inform them about their rights.... EU regulations pertaining to fight such abuses and also in the domain of private data protection is way beyond what Switzerland or the USA do... When will the Swiss Parliament start discussing these issue - nobody knows - but lobbying is very active to avoid these sensitive topics to emerge to the public.

Nice to see preinstalled Ubuntu on decent computers in Switzerland!
Thanks for the initiative!

Do you plan to provide "tower" computers too? I am in the market for
one at the moment, and would love to avoid the MS tax, as well as
shipping costs if possible (system76 is a bit far).

Hi Hansjoerg,

You are supposed to that yourself, it is a wiki. And to
maintain/remove your own entry as needed.
