I'm using 10.4 release 32 bit server candidate CD Install and am installing a two machine cluster - one Cluster Controller (plus everything) and one Node Controller.
I'm following the instructions found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEC/CDInstall I get to the stage where I use the euca tools to describe availability and I get this a...@reynolds:~$ . ~/.euca/eucarc a...@reynolds:~$ euca-describe-availability-zones verbose AVAILABILITYZONE 192.168.1.76 192.168.1.76 AVAILABILITYZONE |- vm types free / max cpu ram disk AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.small 0000 / 0000 1 192 2 AVAILABILITYZONE |- c1.medium 0000 / 0000 1 256 5 AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.large 0000 / 0000 2 512 10 AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.xlarge 0000 / 0000 2 1024 20 AVAILABILITYZONE |- c1.xlarge 0000 / 0000 4 2048 20 AVAILABILITYZONE asher 192.168.1.79 AVAILABILITYZONE |- vm types free / max cpu ram disk AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.small 0000 / 0000 1 192 2 AVAILABILITYZONE |- c1.medium 0000 / 0000 1 256 5 AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.large 0000 / 0000 2 512 10 AVAILABILITYZONE |- m1.xlarge 0000 / 0000 2 1024 20 AVAILABILITYZONE |- c1.xlarge 0000 / 0000 4 2048 20 a...@reynolds:~$ Now two things jump out at me. I still have an earlier version of the cluster appearing (76 is old, 79 is new) - The hardware for that cluster was wiped and became a node for the new cluster. Should I just ignore this and expect it to go away? I also see that there are no free vms and no "max" vms. Does this mean that my single node has not registered itself automatically with the cluster? How should I verify this? The instructions found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEC/CDInstall seem to expect the node to register itself automatically. Any ideas?
