As per the release schedule, Stonking entered Feature Freeze on 2026-08-20.

Ideally, you should all now be focusing on bug fixing rather than
getting new features into the release. However, if necessary, please
follow the process for freeze exceptions:

  https://ubuntu.com/project/docs/release-team/freeze-exceptions/

Additionally, please file your Feature Freeze Exceptions within the next
week so that the Release Team has visibility into further changes to the
release and can make a preliminary review of the exception requests.

As is customary, packages that were uploaded before the Feature Freeze
deadline but are stuck in -proposed remain candidates for fixing between
now and release day.

Remember that version strings do not matter for Feature Freeze. If you
upload a new upstream release and it has no new features, then you do
not need an exception. If you add a quilt patch that adds a new feature
or enable a new feature via build flags, then you do.

Happy bug squashing!

On behalf of the Ubuntu Release Team,

Paride Legovini
