You're probably referring to the tasks in tasksel. As for LDAP Integration, this work is been undertaken by the Ubuntu Server Team. You can have a look at we're trying to achieve for Hardy on the Ubuntu Server Roadmap [1]. There are several items being worked on. Unfortunately progress has been slow on this front - help in packaging, testing and/or documenting is more than welcome.
