Lol. okay, you are picky.
This is a bit of more UI work, but take a look at how "MyStatusBar" plugin work 
on Pidgin. It expands a status box for each account, and a general status bar 
that changes all other.
But now, I see no easy way to do it on an applet.

By the way, you cant enter text for the status either with the current 
implementation.
