...for example these[1,2] bugs never got fixed. Too bad, Firefox is probably the most commonly used program in Ubuntu and still it works poorly since you have to be on a above-average-user-level to open commonly used file formats, save stuff to gvfs-locatation[3,4] and it crashes[5] all the time (probably mostly when flash is involved).
"Open With" dialog not user-friendly 1. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/18995 "Open with" dialog for unknown file type should be same as gnome's 2. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/58710 Firefox file selector should show remote shares 3. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/279193 Unable to upload files from GVFS sources 4. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/31471 651 results for "firefox crashed with" 5. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.searchtext=firefox +crashed+with&orderby=-importance&search=Search&field.status% 3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status% 3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&field.status% 3Alist=CONFIRMED&field.status%3Alist=TRIAGED&field.status% 3Alist=INPROGRESS&field.status% 3Alist=FIXCOMMITTED&field.assignee=&field.bug_reporter=&field.omit_dupes=on&field.has_patch=&field.has_no_package= (and add to those 651 all the bugs that are marked private, right?) I love seeing new features but It would be nice with perhaps one release per year instead of every six months to add some more stability. However, Ubuntu is still the best OS out there IMHO.
