What version of Ubuntu and login manager do you use? gdm used to react on both mouse buttons I think (well at least the version before the rewrite did), that seems a reasonable feature request for lightdm as well, you should open a bug about it on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+filebug
