We generally do not package new upstream versions for previous releases of Ubuntu due to the risk of introducing regressions. If there is a particular bug you like to get fixed, have a look at the Stable Release Upgrade procedure outlined at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates Cheers, Andreas
