We made a rapid and logical decision to mitigate the relentless spam we were getting. This isn't a perfect solution. It's now harder for people to do drive by edits, and we (admins) are getting numerous spurious requests to join the team every day and have that extra workload to deal with. We're also investigating other options of course. Thanks for alerting us to the omission. That page is now fixed.
