FWIW, as a postgresql user, Launchpad has the same desire here that we have for the rest of our platform - continuity as we upgrade LTS->LTS. So I'm ecstatic to see 9.0, and maybe even 9.1 in the next LTS, but we need either that version in a PPA, or 8.4 in a PPA, to let us decouple os-upgrade from DB-upgrade.
