Public bug reported:
I suggest to create another group that focus solely on development of
open-source, not to develop open-source mainly but to grow that
community, to be managed by ubuntu-eg-dev, on which we can receive
questions on open source development, and we keep the current fb group
for support.
** Reasons behind this idea:
1. There's a need to push towards starting a local community of developers.
2. We have currently some ppl interested in this who can form a community.
3. Those developers, either beginners, advanced or interested, can't find
enough mediums to communicate among each other.(This group received such
questions before, but it was irrelevant as this group focuses mainly on
support).
** Reasons that *NEGATE* this idea:
1. This way we are splitting the community force, rather than keeping it
focused in the same pole to get more interactions and thus community grows.
2. Having development-interested persons in the same group with support
requests should result into better chances that support requests will be fully
answered on time.
** Expected problems:
1. (Not sure of this) I'm always afraid when it risks splitting community.
2. To have a support question on this group that receives no or delayed answer
because ppl who can actually figure it out might be attracted more to the -dev
group.
3. (Nearly) Duplicating the effort of management.
4. At the beginning, we will be having not enough capacity to answer questions
on time as community grows.
** Affects: ubuntu-eg
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
