I found something weird yesterday. I thought it is best to disable all
startup programs before upgrading. If I do that and then click Upgrade
in Update Manager, I get the "Welcome to the Xenial Xerus Development
Release". However, if all the startup applications are running, and I
initiate upgrade, I get the correct message, "Welcome to Xenial Xerus
release". I wonder what the mystery is. Perhaps some environment flags
are getting set by some startup app!
Anyway, I succeeded in upgrading, so the above is for the info of everyone.

Great news! I have been eagerly waiting for 16.04.
On upgrading, I get the message "Welcome to the Ubuntu 'Xenial Xerus'
*development releas*e". Do the servers contain dev versions, or can
this message be ignored?

Dear all,
The brave fearless volunteers behind Ubuntu GNOME is very happy to
announce the official release of Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 LTS supported for
3 years and this is our 2nd official Long Term Support (LTS) version.
Before you upgrade or download, kindly make sure to read:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XenialXerus/ReleaseNotes/UbuntuGNOME
Kindly note:
We had a critical bug when upgrading from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS.
Thus, we suggest not to upgrade at the current moment until the fix
of that bug will be released.
Meanwhile, you may want to download from:

Special thanks to each and everyone who made it happen. You're the
best, no doubt about it.
Yet another achievement :D
If you have any Q, please ask!
By the way, for some odd reason, I can't login to our website and
it's 2:50AM in my time so will check the website issue hopefully at
the morning.
