DRBD is included in the mainline kernel as of 2.6.33, this failure is likely due to the fact the module is being built against a kernel that already includes DRBD.
Edward- Without installing drbd8-source, does 'modprobe drbd' succeed? If so, you no longer need the drbd8-source package to be built and installed and only need the userspace utilities. The drbd8-utils should work for you, but its better to have a userspace version that matches the kernel components or you'll see noisy errors and may run into unsupported features. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu High Availability Team, which is subscribed to drbd8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799630 Title: package drbd8-source 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: drbd8 kernel module failed to build Status in “drbd8” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: just got a crash sign not reall sure ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: drbd8-source 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-10.44-generic 2.6.38.7 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-10-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Jun 20 01:07:19 2011 ErrorMessage: drbd8 kernel module failed to build InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) PackageArchitecture: all PackageVersion: 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 SourcePackage: drbd8 Title: package drbd8-source 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: drbd8 kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/drbd8/+bug/799630/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-ha Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-ha More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
