    There *is* phonetic keyboard available on Linux for Kannada. You
will have to install it, though. Instructions for that is available
here:

    If you want Nudi keymap with the same old fonts, you're in luck.
Shashi from Mysore wrote me to inform that they've released 'linek', a
nudi alternative on Linux, with K P Rao (nudi) layout. The following
