Hi Pramod, There are two ways to upgrade into the __next__ version from an older version, 1. Provided a decent broadband connection is available, you can upgrade Ubuntu using the internet directly. All the updated packages are downloaded and installed. 2. By using the alternate CD of the __next__ versions, you can upgrade from an older version to the __next__ version. Further help about upgrading from various older versions to their corresponding newer versions are available here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes Please note the use of "__next__ version" in the above points. You can only upgrade to the next immediate version not jump two or more versions. That is, you have to move to 6.06 from 5.10 first, then to 6.10 and then finally upgrade to 7.04. If you think this process is tedious, try doing a fresh install with 7.04. If the Live CD installer is not working, try the alternate CD and use text based installation.
