Thank you for the suggestion. I have joined the bug list just now, and sent my question there. Let us see what they say. In the mean time if anyone else on this Ubuntu list has a further suggestion, I would be deeply grateful. I am leaving in a few days for India and will be delivering this laptop to a friend there.
