That's what I too was thinking, the guy doesn't know much about the
whole process. I was initially confused what he exactly wanted to say.

BTW AFAIK grub's stage1 is installed on MBR which in turn loads stage2
on disk. This stage2 shows the list of OS to boot. MBR is too small to
hold the whole grub.
