Subject: [ubuntu-in] Some more problems with Hindi and openoffice

Hi

am facing some problems with using hindi (Devanagari) while typing out
open office documents

main problem - when i use the keyboard indicator icon to switch between
English and hindi (Ind wallah) the writing begins all right - but if i
make any changes in the font - like bold, italics, underline then the
typed material gets converted into blocks. To rectify this i have to
select the text and choose Lohit Hindi font to make it visible again.

Second if i type a document and don't use bolding, italics or underline
but keep the font option to ooo.org's default then it appears on the
screen but while printing it appears as block characters, again to
rectify this i need to select the content and change the font to Lohit Hindi

So whats this problem and how can i get a permanent solution. Am
wondering if there is any way open office (or my system) knows i am
typing in hindi and automatically selects Lohit Hindi (or any other
Unicode font) for the duration that keyboard selection remains at
Ind(Hindi / Devanagari)

Third - has any one got the open office hindi dictionary extension
option working, if so what version of open office and how does it work.

would appreciate your help

thanks
ram
