[...] Hmm, I know that the error message says permissions of 644, but my ~/.dmrc seems to have permissions of 600, i.e., only +rw for user. Could you try with that? Also, the other part of the error message that I forgot was that your home directory must not be writable by anyone else. Could you check permissions on the directory ~?
