No need to use terminal for this. Open Synaptic, and click status on the lower left corner, then you will get choices like All, Installed, etc on the upper left corner. Select all the packaged in Installed (Auto removable) and Installed(residual config) and select remove completely. Thats it. BYW: What do you use instead of Open Office -- Regards Narendra Diwate
