If we agree that we need a logo - what does it need to say about us?
It should be inclusive of the other projects. Something like taking a part of each of the logos and putting them together. The Ubuntu and Edubuntu logo use the same color sceem so they can be repesented as one piece. The logos share a theme and we should follow that theme if we make a logo. Just my thoughts. I think the first question is, as you suggest, whether we need a logo. I can't find the message now, but someone on this or the Gnome marketing list said that there's a Spanish phrase something like: "In the home of the blacksmith you find a wooden hoe". We should probably present a face to the rest of the community that shows we have an idea about marketing - it's the old physical evidence thing. So, the logo would have to be of professional standard, otherwise it's probably not worth having one.
