If we agree that we need a logo - what does it need to say about us?

It should be inclusive of the other projects. Something like taking a
part of each of the logos and putting them together. The Ubuntu and
Edubuntu logo use the same color sceem so they can be repesented as
one piece. The logos share a theme and we should follow that theme if
we make a logo. Just my thoughts.

I think the first question is, as you suggest, whether we need a logo.

I can't find the message now, but someone on this or the Gnome
marketing list said that there's a Spanish phrase something like:

"In the home of the blacksmith you find a wooden hoe".

We should probably present a face to the rest of the community that
shows we have an idea about marketing - it's the old physical evidence
thing. So, the logo would have to be of professional standard,
otherwise it's probably not worth having one.
