Thanks I think that's what I saw when I was looked at the properties back in intrepid.

This will also work with maximizing an min as _long_ as you have a key combination set up for it.

There is a proper way, and a quick way.



The proper way would involve adding things into gconf.



The quick way is just as follows:

1) Add a "Custom Application Launcher" to the panel you would like.



2) Choose whatever name, icon you want to give it.



3) Use the following as a command: xte 'keydown Alt_L' 'keydown F4' 'keyup F4' 'keyup Alt_L'



Now, whatever window is in focus, if you click on the added launcher, it will close it.



The command just simulates the keyboard shortcut Alt+F4, which is used to close programs.



This requires the package "xautomation" to be installed.
