Hi! My name is Monty. I'm mtaylor on Freenode.
I'm 33 years old and live in the US. I speak English. I am a core developer on Drizzle, which is one of the current forks of MySQL. I'm also an active developer on Gearman and Memcached, as well as MySQL to a certain degree. I also am involved with various other Free Software projects, either as a developer or as a heckler. I have been using Ubuntu since Hoary and Debian since potato. Before that, I've been using Linux since 94. All I've got to say is... wow, floppies. I have been packaging software for Debian since around 2001. I have several packages I maintain in Debian[1], although I am not a Debian developer. I am also involved with the Debian python modules team. I actively contribute to and look forward to working on Ubuntu-specific packaging needs for: Drizzle libdrizzle gearmand libmemcached plywood quoins I would also like to help with: tokyocabinet protobuf I maintain several PPA's at the moment for various purposes, including: https://edge.launchpad.net/~mordred/+archive/ppa https://edge.launchpad.net/~drizzle-developers/+archive/ppa My launchpad page is: http://launchpad.net/~mordred I use Launchpad for all of my development work and bzr for all but one of my projects. I have been wanting to be a MOTU for a while, but the process has seemed rather opaque for some reason, so a mentor I can bug (who isn't Robert Collins, who I bug too much already) would be great. Thanks!
