Which makes me wonder:
Why isn't the install CD/DVD added to the sources.list by default? That
would probably ease the life of users who have low bandwidth and don't
realize they can do this.

BTW, build-essential with dependencies is also included on the normal
install CD, but debhelper and others aren't.
