Correct me if I'm wrong: you want to get the gutsy package into
feisty-updates?

This is a very large change for a package in a stable release.
True, it would make it easier to install netbeans for the users but as
this is a very large change and as there aren't any bugs about problems
with the installer I'd be against such a change.

Are there any bugs which would warrant such an update (like security
updates or serious bugfixes) that aren't reported in LP?

IMHO it would be better to get this into feisty-backports instead of
feisty-updates.

(This is all my own opinion, I don't have any decision making powers.)
