Hello,
using python2.7 in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, I get a segmentation fault when
importing both vtk and PyQT in this order:
import vtk
from PyQt4 import QtCore, QtGui
I am using the current versions of both libraries.
This bug was already reported here for Ubuntu 17.04:

Might one of the packages be compiled with a conflicting library?
