It was subsequently removed from Ubuntu as well, following suit, because we do not keep packages in Ubuntu that have no maintainer. (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/root-system/+publishinghistory) I don't have any specific knowledge of this software so I can't say what the best solution is for users who have need of it.
