Good news! I've just tested single-GPU multi-seat in latest Xubuntu 16.04 beta, and it worked perfectly, without need to enforce Plymouth/LightDM to start on tty1. It means our ppa:ubuntu-multiseat/single-gpu is no longer needed.
I'll try to update Ubuntu Multiseat's wiki for single-GPU instructions in the next days.
