At the very least the latest stable, not everybody uses Oneiric yet. How hard is it to backport to all supported releases?
I'd be happy to document it in the packaging guide. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Packaging Guide Team, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Packaging Guide. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798972 Title: Recommend packaging-dev Status in Ubuntu Packaging Guide: New Bug description: The packaging guide suggests to install a bunch of packages [1]. packaging-dev was created as metapackage for this use case. packaging- dev is available in Debian unstable and will be synced to oneiric soonish (and backported to natty). Please recommend to install packaging-dev instead of [1]. If packaging-dev misses anything needed, please let me know (or file a bug against it).
