There are other pages in the packaging guide that talk about some of these things, e.g.
http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/getting-set-up.html and http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/udd-getting-the-source.html I'm not sure how much of a bzr tutorial the packaging guide should include but if the above isn't enough, then perhaps we need a link to the Bazaar documentation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Packaging Guide Team, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Packaging Guide. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/925322 Title: Improving Merging page Status in Ubuntu Packaging Guide: New Bug description: I've done merges with grab-merge for previous cycle and I tried to make a merge following this guide: http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/udd-merging.html IMHO it's too brief in bzr commands since the user of that page may be newcomers starting learning packaging through Merges and Syncs. Info I missed in this page: * How to login with bzr * How to grab the Ubuntu package sources * A better explanation of commands "status" "diff" "resolve" "conflicts" I found the old guide and the infos you get with grab-merge much more communicative. I didn't answer myself about how to see differences between debian-base and ubuntu-base. Also the infos about how to request a sponsoring should be improved, I hadn't complete the process so I can't help about what's missing right now.
