V.I.,

QtMultimedia doesn't implement the support of actually playing
anything directly. Any QtMultimedia plugin must still make calls into
a backend that actually creates a media playback pipeline. Think of
QtMultimedia as a really nice and integrated interface on top of one
or more backends. The docs that I linked to in my previous email to
Daniel should go into that concept in more detail.
