It should work if your XMPP server provides a Websocket connector... Unfortunately, Ubuntu Touch seems to be quite limited for HTML5 applications (well, it just provides the standard functionality, but that's not always enough to implement what users want - see also my question here last month https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg22295.html ) BTW, I am not sure LoquiIM should have been added to the open store in it's current state...
